| About Short Creek Fjords |
| I was first introduced to Fjords in 1989 at Olds College. Having used a team of horses for chores and trail rides for a number of years I had thought that the perfect team would be something like a tough Shetland crossed with a Suffolk Punch. Then I saw the Fjords and after I was told about how strong and sure footed they were and their other characterisics,I knew it was time to try and talk Janet, my new bride of 2 weeks into buying a couple. After 8 years of searching, finding out how rare and costly these ponies were and going "Please,Please,Please can I have a Fjord " Janet caved and said "OK I guess we can buy a couple weanling fillies". Until this I thought Janet figured I might get to carried away. By fall we had a herd of 6 mares,1-2 year old filly,a stud,3 fillies and a stud colt that were born that spring of 97. After spending some time and using these attention loving horses we don't think we got carried away (to much) |
