| Ollie was nursing on Neena when he arrived on our farm. The pair of them were very under weight,so the next spring he was quite runty. Nobody was interested in buying him and he stayed here. Fate worked in our favour, because once studying his pedigree more closely, and comparing it to the other mares,we felt he would fit in as a 2nd stud. The next year he bulked up,and his personallity was very pleasant. Ollie is an energenic horse, but very controlable. In the fall of 2001 we had dropped about 600 square bales of oat straw behind the baler. We drove Ollie and Dexter together to pick them up,with our 10 year old daughter Mackenzie driving them and our 2 sons Tyler(11) and Kevin(9) helping to load. We would drive them right past the mares(with me in the passenger seat) and when ever Dexter would pay more attention to the mares than he should have Ollie would straighten him out. I never had to grabb onto the lines once. This is only one of many examples of how he behaves. His offspring have shown to be very calm and lovable. Ollie is a real gentleman with the mares and a super baby sitter with the young ones when their mommies go out for a ride or drive. We are very proud to own him! |
